The Tunxis Indian Memorial has stood high above the Farmington River and former Farmington Canal since 1840, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the town. It was at this location the Tunxis Indians lived and buried their dead long before the first colonists arrived in 1640. Listen to the legend of the Tunxis Indian who is still seen, at times, walking in the direction of the monument. |

At dusk and under the cover of darkness , this guided walking tour visits cemeteries in ancient 1640 Farmington, CT . Learn about early New England burial customs, ancient gravestone carvings with skulls, death heads, winged angels, crowns, tablestones with messages and inscriptions for the living carved in stone. Hear legends and stories about many locals (some famous) who once walked these same paths long ago; a minister, actor, teacher, chair-maker, abolitionists and a former captive who was on the schooner Amistad. Shivers will travel through your spine in the eerie shadows as you hear about a man who was buried backwards, the legend of a Tunxis Indian who still walks by moonlight and a woman hanged for witchcraft in 1663. |

With the age of digital cameras, Orbs have been photographed by many people during our Evening Graveyards Walking Tour of Farmington. Orbs are unknown energy anomalies and are not visible to the naked eye but can be seen through infrared monitors or recorded by digital cameras. |
Close-up of the blue Orb |
Orbs over gravestones, specifically a blue Orb.
|
When Orbs show up, they appear to be luminosity's that are round in shape. They are a form of energy of an unknown origin. Orbs are known to defy gravity and change direction slow or quickly. They react to the presence of people, and then increase in number. They appear both indoors and outdoors too. |
|
Two unusual dish-type orbs seem to be watching our graveyard tour group. Digital photograph shows the orbs from the "side" which seems to give the orbs depth and are not one-dimensional. Close up of dish-type orbs.
